The congestion of the Sanctoral this week is owing to the fact that all feasts falling in the Octave of Pentecost are simply bumped forward a week. Note that St Augustine of Canterbury is given the title of anglorum apostolus in the kalendar of the Nidaros Breviary, indicating the deep English roots of the Norwegian Use.
